GCE has partnered with local and indigenous communities to:

  • Secure permanent local land tenure for more than 200,000 acres of rainforest via community-led mapping

  • Develop participatory land management plans for four communities as Local Community Forest Concessions.

  • Engage 17 villages in participatory land use planning, local governance, and sustainable initiatives, benefiting an estimated 33,000 people.

  • Directly involve over 1,500 community members in training workshops for sustainable resource management.

  • Strengthen the capacity of local administrative authorities in forest concession governance.

  • Train local people in agricultural entrepreneurship and introduce train-the-trainer model to equip 100-200 local producers per crop.

  • Help 50+ people grow, conserve, and process cocoa.

  • Strengthen gender inclusion and leadership, especially in management of community-held forest concessions and agricultural entrepreneurship.
