GCE has partnered with local and indigenous communities to:
Secure permanent local land tenure for more than 200,000 acres of rainforest via community-led mapping
Develop participatory land management plans for four communities as Local Community Forest Concessions.
Engage 17 villages in participatory land use planning, local governance, and sustainable initiatives, benefiting an estimated 33,000 people.
Directly involve over 1,500 community members in training workshops for sustainable resource management.
Strengthen the capacity of local administrative authorities in forest concession governance.
Train local people in agricultural entrepreneurship and introduce train-the-trainer model to equip 100-200 local producers per crop.
Help 50+ people grow, conserve, and process cocoa.
Strengthen gender inclusion and leadership, especially in management of community-held forest concessions and agricultural entrepreneurship.
